MSA Awards 2025 – Bridging Progress: Call for Participation

The MSA Awards 2025 will be held on 15 August 2025, and we are excited to invite agencies, brands, and media professionals to submit their best work for recognition. This prestigious event provides a platform to showcase the impact of creative, innovative, and strategic work that is shaping the future of media.


With the theme “Bridging Progress”, the MSA Awards 2025 reflects the media industry’s journey of resilience and adaptation amidst a rapidly evolving landscape. This year’s event is about more than recognition—it’s about Crafting Connections: The Art and Science of Meaningful Engagement. What begins as a bold idea, innovation, or move, grows into a network of people, technology, and ideas, ultimately shaping a movement that redefines the media landscape.


Ms. Jo Yau, Organizing Chairperson and Jury Chair, explains, “In today’s hyper-connected world, media is no longer just about reach—it’s about resonance. Brands need to move beyond visibility to create lasting value. Engagement must evolve from simple interaction to meaningful impact. It’s these connections that drive culture, commerce, and conversation.”


This year’s awards will feature some exciting updates. These include a Refined Round 2 segment, updated Finalist Submission Guidelines, a Hygiene Check after final material submission, and a new award point system.


Ms. Yau adds, “‘Bridging Progress’ is more than just a theme—it’s a call to action. It’s a collective effort, where collaboration, innovation, and strategy shape the future of our industry.”
The 2025 edition will introduce 18 categories under the “Best Use of” segment, as well as a new category: Growth Agency of the Year. This award will recognize agencies that excel in fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusion, driving meaningful change, achieving significant business growth, and promoting Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI).


Ms. Sheila Shanmugam, President of the Media Specialists Association (MSA), comments, “The media industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by shifts in consumer behavior, changes in the media landscape, organizational restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions. While these shifts bring some uncertainty, they also offer unique opportunities for growth.”


The MSA Awards 2025 will showcase Malaysia’s talent in addressing these evolving industry dynamics. Ms. Shanmugam adds, “In these transformative times, fostering a spirit of innovation is essential. By investing in individual expertise and leveraging the unique strengths of each agency, we can deliver more impactful and comprehensive solutions to our clients.
